Sponsor a student,

change A future

When you sponsor a Malaika student, you immediately impact the trajectory of her life.

At Malaika, we believe every girl deserves the right to an education. By removing logistical barriers and providing access to meals, uniforms, and supplies, we’re one step closer to making our vision a reality, but we can’t do it alone.

Through a year-long student sponsorship, you can cover the cost of one girl’s well-rounded primary or secondary school education.

When you sponsor a student at Malaika, you’re doing more than covering the cost of education. You’re showing a young girl that someone believes in her. That belief matters. Sponsored students often feel a deeper sense of motivation, confidence, and connection.

In the DRC, millions of children are out of school — and most of them are girls.

By the time they reach their mid-teens, about one in three girls has left school, often because of family hardship, early marriage, or lack of resources.

At Malaika, sponsorship keeps girls learning, dreaming, and building the skills to create their own opportunities. When a girl knows someone is in her corner, she’s more likely to stay in school and thrive.

Sponsor a student today (or team up with friends or colleagues to do it together) and help break the cycle that holds girls back.

Every student has a story

Ruth is a 7-year-old in Grade 1, the fifth of nine children—two brothers and six sisters. Her favorite color is purple, and her favorite meal is rice with spaghetti. She loves French class and aspires to be a doctor in the future. Her mother works in a restaurant, and her father is a farmer.

  • DORCAS

    GRADE 3 OF KINDERGARTEN

“The opportunity to sponsor Nicie's education created an immediate and lasting bond between us. It deepened my support for Malaika as a tangible, direct realization of their successful model.

As she approaches graduation, I'm so proud to see her thrive and to have played a small role in her growth. The sky's the limit for what she can achieve!”
