Malaika School

Today, according to UNESCO, 49.5 million girls in Sub-Saharan Africa are out of school. Founded in 2011, the Malaika School provides free primary and secondary education to 430 girls. With daily classes taught in French and English, our robust curriculum covers math, science, information technology, the arts, and much more. At Malaika, we equip our girls with the belief that they can envision a brighter tomorrow and the resources needed to get there.

Program highlights

  • world-class education

At Malaika, we provide a holistic education that goes far beyond the basics. By blending technology, creativity, and leadership, we prepare students to shape the future with confidence.

  • Extracurricular activities

At Malaika, students thrive beyond the classroom through diverse extracurriculars, ranging from gymnastics and music to football, art, and dance. With dedicated coaching, many girls discover their talents and have even represented their country at national tournaments.

  • our graduates

Since 2023, 71 Malaika students have proudly graduated, often the first in their families to do so. Each milestone sends a powerful ripple effect through their communities, breaking barriers and redefining what it means to be a girl in rural DRC: educated, empowered, and full of potential.

beyond graduation

At Malaika, our commitment doesn’t end with a diploma. We continue to support our students as they pursue higher education and career opportunities, including scholarships abroad. As they flourish into global citizens, many are already looking ahead with a strong desire to give back—eager to return one day as the next generation of leaders for their community.
